November 9-10, 2016 Provincial Inspection Operations

On November 9-10, 2016 OMB Agents conducted routine inspections in various areas in Butuan and Surigao Cities, where illegal compact discs were reportedly being openly sold to the public.

On two separate operations, a total of sixty nine business stalls were inspected which led to the seizure of around 117,600 pieces pirated CDs/DVDs of different format and tittles, amounting to an estimated value of PhP41.16-Million.

November 3-4, 2016 Provincial Inspection Operations

On November 3-4, 2016 OMB Agents conducted routine inspections in various areas in the Provinces of Laguna and Quezon, where illegal compact discs were reportedly being openly sold to the public.

On two separate operations, forty nine business stalls were inspected which led to the seizure of around 34,600 pieces pirated CDs/DVDs of different format and tittles, amounting to an estimated value of PhP11.9-Million.

Monthly Inspection Operations

In October 2016, OMB Agents conducted inspections in various areas in Metro Manila, CAR, Region 3, 4a, 6, 7, and 10, where illegal compact disc are openly sold to the public.

One hundred eighty eight stalls/establishments were inspected, and said operations during the period led to the seizure of 552,475 pieces of pirated CDs/DVDs of different format and titles, amounting to an estimated value of PhP193-Million, Cagayan De Oro, Iloilo, and Central Luzon are the areas with the highest recorded seizures.

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Several sacks of fake digital video discs (DVDs) with an estimated value of P21 million were seized in a raid on several establishments here yesterday afternoon.

No one was arrested in the raid conducted by a joint team from the Optical Media Board (OMB) and the police Regional Public Safety Battalion.

OMB chairman Anselmo Adriano said one of the shop owners questioned the raid and claimed they were paying protection money to a police officer.

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Seven million pesos worth of pirated DVDs and CDs were confiscated from several stores in Zamboanga's downtown area on Saturday afternoon.

The raid was conducted after the Optical Media Board (OMB) received several complaints against businessmen who were selling counterfeit products, OMB chairman Atty. Anselmo Adriano said.

Fifty sacks of pirated DVDs from two stores were confiscated and will be housed temporarily at the police camp in Barangay Mercedes, he said.

THE Optical Media Board (OMB) backed by Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) policemen have seized millions of pesos worth of pirated digital video discs (DVDs) in simultaneous raids Saturday, November 26, in several business establishments in Zamboanga City.
