On April 26, 2017, OMB Agents were directed to conduct the inspection of busisness stalls located in St. Francis Square Mall (Mandaluyong City) and Metro Mall (Pasig City). Two areas notoriously known for the sale of illegal compact discs.
A total of twenty stalls/booths were inspected, which led to the seizure of one hundred twenty (120) sacks of pirated CDs/DVDs of different format and titles, amounting to an estimated value of PhP16.80-Million.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed Proclamation No. 190 on April 4, 2017, declaring the month of April every year as National Intellectual Property (IP) Month. The Proclamation was made to align the country’s programs and activities to the scale of global IP celebrations.

On March 23, 2017, Agents conducted routine inspections in various areas of the Lagina Province, where illegal compact discs were reportedly being openly sold to the public.
A total of twenty one business stalls were inspected, which led to the seizure of around 28, 800 or more pieces pirated CDs/DVDs of different format and titles, amounting to an estimated value of PhP10.08 -Million.

DARAGA, Albay – Optical Media Board (OMB) agents and police operatives confiscated thousands copies of pirated movies worth more than a million pesos in a raid in different stores along Rizal Street here on Wednesday Night, police said Thursday.
On March 02, 2017, OMB Agents implemented Inspection Orders to check business stalls in various areas of Quezon City, where illegal compact discs are openly sold to the public.
Said operations led to the seizure of thirty two (32) sacks of pirated CDs/DVDs of different format and titles, amounting to an estimated value of PhP4.48-Million.
For February 2017, OMB Agents conducted inspections in various areas of Metro Manila, Regions 2 (Cagayan Valley) and 4-A (Calabarzon).
A total of one hundred fifty three stalls/establishments were inspected, and said operations during the period led to the seizure of 190,533 pieces of pirated CDs/DVDs of different format and titles, as well as 280,244 pieces of blank CDs, all amounting to an estimated value of PhP69.48-Million.
